The War to Resist Wolf Aggression and Aid The Five Nations, also called "Mind Your Own Business, Commies" by the Friends of DOOM, was a war that developed when the AIPVA of the Union of Communist Republics intervened in an assault conducted by the Doom Wolves on behalf of a group of five unaligned nations (The Five Nations). The war escalated when Doom Squad and The Dark Templar declared war on the Union of Communist Republics for their sponsorship of the AIPVA intervention in wars of the Doom Wolves, a protectorate of Doom Squad. Although Doom Wolves raids were objectively aggressive in nature, as conceded in peace talks, DS and DT initially claimed that they entered the conflict in a defensive manner.

Timeline

October 12: Doom Wolves announce their existence. In their announcement, leader Al Bundy openly threatens the sovereignty of unaligned nations.

October 13: Doom Wolves launches coordinated raids against The Five Nations.

October 16: Defensive forces of the AIPVA enter the battlefield at the request of The Five Nations. AIPVA Executive Committee publicly calls on Al Bundy to stop hostilities and discuss peace.

October 18: Doom Wolves rejects call for peace and escalates by launching nuclear weapons. AIPVA activates reserve forces and opens a third front in retaliation.

October 20: Doom Squad along with their ally Dark Templar declare war on the Union of Communist Republics in support of Doom Wolves.

October 21: Doom Wolves raid wars expire, ending original AIPVA mission. Members of The Soviet Entente independently declare war against Doom Coalition in retaliation for their position against the UCR.

October 27: Peace Treaty announced.

November 5: Final round of wars expires at update.

Perspectives

UCR

From the onset of the Volunteer Army entry into the conflict, members of the Doom Coalition engaged in direct disinformation in an attempt to portray the Doom Wolves as victims, despite the objectively aggressive nature of their actions. This mainly consisted of attempts to misrepresent or outright lie about the stated purpose and intent of the Volunteer Army. In the Doom Squad Declaration of War, the UCR is accused of "enforcing a no raid doctrine" and attempting to "police" the "historical practice" of raiding. In reality, no statements from the Volunteer Army, nor the UCR itself have called for open warfare against raiding nations and alliances, nor have any statements called for the "enforcement" of the UCR's anti-raiding stance. According to its founding charter, the Volunteer Army is a defensive force that only responds to requests for intervention from nations under siege - it does not allow for aggressive action. Regardless of these facts, Doom Coalition members continued to insist that their actions were defensive. Other members accused the UCR of targeting the Doom Wolves in particular, despite no evidence for the claim. In fact, in an apparent contradiction, members used the fact that UCR was not actively attacking all raiders to support their claims.

Doom

Doom Wolves' raids against unaligned nations largely fit into the conventional traditions of tech raiding, especially concerning nations without protection labeled in their nation bios. A large amount of controversy and debate within the UCR camp rhetorically argued that their wars are by their nature in defense of the Five Nations, while Doom Squad maintained their position of defending their ally, acting in defense of the wars that UCR initiated.

Additionally, as noted above, the nature of UCR's stated aims to signal "The End of the Age of Imperialism" were certainly unfulfilled as Doom Wolves and many other alliances continued to raid after the war. The UCR made it clear that they were only accepting a military defeat, rather than a defeat of their main objective. To this end, the UCR maintains that they have succeeded in their mission of preventing further war against the Five Nations, but time will tell if that is accurate or mere wordplay.

Peace

On October 27, 2021, both sides agreed to peace. UCR admitted military defeat and publicly proclaimed that the AIPVA should have first approached Doom Wolves diplomatically before intervening.
