Tráty (Finn. Turaksi, Russ. Тракт, Est. Trakt) is an important stop-off point in the highway trip between Syktyvkar and Ukhta in Uralica, within Komiland County. Once little more than an outpost with a gas station, Tráty has grown into a bustling town thanks to the mining industry. Around 65% of the population is on the payroll of Bolak Corp., including many of the sports players that play there. It was far higher, but the emergence of Magyar Independent as an economic power has lessened it. Not surprisingly, the biggest economic sectors in Tráty are mining and metallurgy.

Originally named Trakt officially, the city was renamed to Tráty in April of 2010 to reflect the Hungarian majority of the city.

Culture[]

As its former name would imply, Tráty has a sizable Russian population, however it is also home to the largest proportional population of Hungarians in Uralica and thus was a natural choice to be the location of the Hungarian Tribal Board's head office. Therefore, the town has a very Hungarian flavour and most of its population is Catholic.

Despite Tráty's industrial nature, there aren't many tall buildings in the town. Instead, the town thrives on selling raw materials. From when it used to sell marble, Tráty had a reputation as a sculptor's and potter's utopia, and one of Uralica's centres of the visual arts, one which has carried on despite the exhaustion of marble. There are large quantities of materials in the area which are ingredients in potter's clay.

There are no named suburbs or neighbourhoods of Tráty, given the size of the town, however some do consider the hamlets of Rakpas (Finn. Rakipas) and Chernorechenskyy (Finn. Mustarekkila) to be part of Tráty. This is not official.
