The Third Sino-Japanese War is an ongoing military conflict between Japan, the Union of Midway, China. It started on August 15th, 2013, when China declared war on Japan after 14 Chinese activists were arrested by Japan in the oceans near the Senkaku Islands.
Background[]
On August 14th, 2013, 14 Hong Kong activists set sail for the Senkaku Islands in order to protest what they called illegal occupation of the islands by Japan. The Chinese government then informed the Japanese government that if Japan did anything to the activists, the Chinese government would take "appropriate measures". When Japan arrested the activists, the Chinese government declared war on Japan. Midway then declared war on China after activating a mutual-defense pact Midway has with Japan.
