Solaria or the Republic of the Sun or República del Sol is a Central and South American nation.
Geography[]
The capital of Caracas in the 2170s
Solaria is a highly coastal nation bordering the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean as well as the Caribbean Sea. Significant mountain ranges include the Sierra Madre de Chiapas. The nation consists of Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and parts of Colombia and Venezuela.
History[]
Prior to the Grand Mexican War, South America was ruled primarily by the Aurelian Empire. The Empire was vast and centered on the capital city of Aurelia. Although the Empire was not a combatant in the war, Aurelia and all other major cities in South America will leveled in the nuclear aftermath, which made the empire collapse.
In the years that followed, a democracy in the northern portion of South America, centered on Caracas emerged. Through conquest, consolidation, and annexation, this democracy grew into Solaria and grew to encompass all of Central America and most of the northern coast of South America. Solaria's borders were once larger, but regions of the Ecuador coast petitioned to join the Fortaleza Federation and ultimately left Solaria.
Government and Politics[]
Solaria is a Unitary state and a People's republic. Representatives are elected to the unicameral Cámara del Sol more typically simply refered to as La Cámara. A President is also elected.
Foreign Relations[]
Solaria treats the Fortaleza Federation cautiously, as Solaria as lost territory to the Federation in the past. Solaria is on good terms with the Kingdom of Aurelia. Solaria trades frequently with the Augustine Empire but has been cautious since Empire conquered North Mexico and Elegada. Solaria desires to trade with the other North American nations but its sea access can be limited by the Augustine Empire.
