Sointula is a two-man studio-based trance act from Syktyvkar, consisting of two Sointula Finns, Jarkko Salomäki and Jeffrey Laukkanen, who went to high school together in Port McNeill. They have one album to their credit.

History[]
Jeff and Jarkko have been friends since they were in kindergarten, however the band's real beginning didn't come until after Jeff moved to newly-formed Uralica some time after the Ionized-Jelly War in 2008. He recalled to Jarkko about how they had a "for-fun" music project when they were in high school, and Jarkko suggested that they do a trance project in a nearby studio.
The project has been limited due to Jarkko's political job, sports career, and other bands, so this has been a studio-only project, and the first album was not released until May 2009.

Other Projects[]
- Jarkko Salomäki is the co-composer-in-residence of the Uralican Symphony Orchestra alongside Ruslan Kamyshin and a bass clarinettist within the same, is also in Digitoxicosis, Bane of the Machine, and Tundra Sounds, and has a solo symphonic electronica project named DC76.
- Jeffrey Laukkanen is a keyboardist in EBM band Blacklight Theory and industrial rock outfit Mowdown.
