San Pablo City faithfully serves as the capital for The Ian Republic.
History[]
In 1938, San Pablo City suffered a very devastating fire, but it was quickly rebuilt, and was given a city charter in 1940. It was heavilly attacked by Japanese forces during the late years of 1941, and endured its brutality for more than three years. A battle in nearby Santa Isabel district on November 22, 1944 between local guerillas and Japanese forces led to a chain of events, which led to the liberation of San Pablo City on April 3, 1945. Banahaw Compound (the old Japanese garrison) is now used as a training camp for newly recruited soldiers.
A special mango tree, planted in the 1950s by the local Rotary Club, was preserved during the road expansion project of the 1960s and the 1970s. San Pablo City eventually progressed, but the progress was slowed during the financial crisis of 1997-1999. Politics also contributed to its decline, nearly causing the revocation of its city charter.
The Coconut dessication plant, located between the City Market and the National Highway, was closed on September 2007. Ian Lopez then came in the scene to save his beloved city. He made it the capital of The Ian Republic and renamed it to Ian City.
As months passed by, the city's residents don't like to be residents of the city renamed for their "savior". They petitioned Ian since late March 2008. he ignored it until the 21st of April, 2008. He then promptly renamed it to its former name, since he also has nostalgia for the old name then (San Pablo City).
Infrastructure[]
Ian City's infrastructure is too detaled to be discussed until the Assesment, to be done in the remaining days of April, 2008.
