The Province of Finland (German: Provinz von Finnland) is a province of the Duchy of Brunswick. The province is made up of the former Republic of Finland. It is bordered by the provinces of Sweden, Norway, and Russia. It is bordered by the Gulf of Finland. Its capital is Helsinki.

Finland was first inhabited by the Sami (Lapp) people. The Sami moved north to the arctic regions when Finnish speakers migrated to Finland in the first millennium B.C. Eric IX, king of Sweden, conquered Finland in 1157 after the Finns repeated raids on the coast. The Finnish territory converted to Christianity after Sweden conquered. Finland was conquered by Alexander I of Russia in 1809. Finnish power was sapped during a period of Russification. Finland declared independence in 1917 after Russia was surrounded by Revolution. The USSR attacked Finland in 1939 and gained territory. The Germans pressured the Finns to fight as allies against Russia in 1941 before they were defeated and surrendered more land to Russia. Russia signed a treaty with Finland in 1948 and remained nonaligned during the Cold War.

Finland became a province of the Duchy in 2010.
