The President of the Democratic Republic of the Pacific is the head of state for the Pacifican Republic and effectively the highest political office in Pacifica. The President heads the Council of Ministers de facto and is the chief administrator of non-Council government agencies and diplomatic missions. The President is the only nationally directly elected officer in the government.

As per Chapter IV of the Constitution, the President is mandated powers over appointment of diplomatic officials, government agency administrators, the armed forces, and organization of the government of the nation.

To date, only one individual has held the title President of the Democratic Republic of the Pacific since its creation on 3rd of April 2009. The current and first President of the Republic is Ray Matveyev. Election for the office of President is due to come on the 15th of September, 2009 as declared by the Constitution.

President of the Provisional Republic of Puget Sound[]

Only Ray Matveyev, also the Pacifican Democratic Republic's first president, ever held this office. After the collapse of the Republic of Washington when the eastern and western counties of the former State of Washington seceded from the country, Matveyev reorganized what was left of the Republic into the Provisional Republic of Puget Sound. A temporary charter was enacted outlining the offices and powers in the short-lived Provisional Republic.

The President was given many executive authorities, to take the burden of the Sound National Legislative Council and the constituional convention. The charter also created the office of Vice-President, which Zachary Hudgins (now Secretary of the National Assembly and representative delegate from the Seattle Parish) held. The President and Vice-President oversaw the Republican Executive Governing Council which is similar to today's Council of Ministers.
