Peerage of J Andres

In the empire of J Andres, the King or Queen may denote peerage upon anyone that they desire. The titles do not necessarily carry any weight over each other. The Order of Succession typically goes to the eldest child of the current monarch, or to another member of the monarch's family. In the absence of a family member, another individual who has been denoted with peerage may take up the crown, with the approval of the Commune. Those who can claim relation to Josef I or are members of the other royal houses are added to the order of succession.

Principalities

The title of prince or princess is granted to direct descendants of the reigning monarch. The heir apparent is typically granted the title of Prince of Newport. Not all princes and princesses are granted principalities. Those who are use the form of address "his/her royal highness," while those without principalities use "his/her highness."

The Principality of Paris, who rules Colonial Marianne is not always a direct descendant. This is since Paris was colonized by Natalia who had a hereditary claim to the area before J Andres rule.
