The Military of Bouvetia numbers about 70,000 personnel. It is currently mobilised for war.

Organisation[]

Military branches (in order of senoriority):

  • Bouvetian Army (Hæren)
  • Bouvetian Navy (Sjøforsvaret)
  • Bouvetian Air Force (Luftforsvaret)

Army[]

CV9030

Several units also have the CV9030.

The army consists of the bulk of the personnel, and 4469 armoured vehicles including modified Leopard 2s and Mobile Iceball Artillery (MIA), the latter which are wholly developed in Bouvetia.

These are the known units in the Bouvetian Army:

  • 2 Armored battallions (Panserbataljonen and Kavaleribataljonen)
  • 4 Infantry battallions (1. Infanteribataljon, 2. Infanteribataljon, 1. Mekaniserte Infanteribataljon and 2. Mekaniserte Infanteribataljon)
  • 2 Artillery battallions (Artilleribataljonen, Kystfortbataljonen)
  • The Bouvetian Special Forces (Bouvetias Spesialjegeravdeling)

Navy[]

The Navy numbers about 1000 personnel in peace time, but is now double that number. It consists mainly of small coast guard vessels in addition to troop transports and supply ships. There have been experiments with using penguins as weapon delivery systems, but disagreements about their retirement benefits have halted the progress for now.

Air Force[]

The Air Force has about 60 aircraft at any time. Planes recently used are F-22 Raptor and Tupolev Tu-160. The Chief of the Air Force has repeatedly argued that his branch should have the cruise missile silos, but meets fierce opposition from the Chief of the Artillery Battalion, who is planning to outfit the silos with climbing walls for recreation.

Nukes[]

Bouvetia had nuclear weapons during its independence, but they exploded. These explosions presumably brought lots of unpleasantness, so any nuke found on Bouvetian soil today is probably foreign and about explode very soon.
