The 2076 J Andres Commune Elections were held on October 28, 2076 to elect the 888 senators of the J Andres Commune.
Background[]
In 2075, California, North Mexico, the North American Commonwealth, and the SSR conspired to lower oil prices worldwide. This terribly affected the economy of the Caribou Federation and destabilized North America. As the Caribou Federation grew weaker with each passing week, Charlotte Laurent announced that this was precisely the situation which she warned the nation about during the 2072 elections. She ran a solid campaign vowing to stick up for J Andres interests on the continent to ensure the survival of the fledgling nation. She easily defeated incumbent president Emily Gibbons and well as Communist party candidate, former Governor Chris Tucker.
These reverberations were felt within the Commune as well. Ashley Carpenter and the Nationalist party lost many seats and control of the chamber. The Anchor party regained control of the Commune, and Rupert Garfield stepped aside to let Daniel Young take the helm of the party and the chamber.
