On December 5th, 2009 at about 6:20am UTC, Coldfront, the IRC network used by the majority of Cyber Nations, declared war on Cyber Nations and Cyber Nations communication, citing "irreconcilable differences." It also made rheal rheally sad.

Frozen, one of the servers in the network was particularly to blame. Frozen spent the majority of the net split repeatedly suicide bombing rail lines between between the other servers, causing Services to be dead and Storm (one of the other servers in the network) to be split from Ice and Subzero, the other two servers.

Hilarity ensued.

As of 11am UTC, the netsplitwar continues. Frozen briefly reconnected every so often to Ice and Subzero, bringing Services back with it, before going offline again each time. Storm has remained split from the other servers since the beginning of the war.

As of 12:37:46, a global message appreared from the Coldfront server admins: 12:37:46 [coldfront] -Global(services@coldfront.net)- Apologies all - something funky is going on with the routing between the leaf servers and the hub (frozen). We're looking into it.

With twelve hours elapsed since the initial netsplit, there appears to be no end to the war in sight, with many Cyber Nations fighters abandoning the struggle against Coldfront. A core of dedicated battlers continue to march onward however, confident of an eventual victory.

After nearly 14 hours of the split, Services appeared to be coming back to normal. However Storm is still split from the rest of the network. This war seems to be going on forever. I will keep updating on this as more news comes --Diablofan 19:55, December 5, 2009 (UTC)

Exactly 14 hours after the netsplit began, the network was fully linked back together. `, an IRC admin, relinked Storm back to the network after a full 14 hour netsplit after seeing that Services, that are located on Frozen, have been stable. The network seems to be reading green across the board as all servers are responding to each other in timely matters. --Diablofan 20:13, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
