The Foreign Ministry of the Duchy of Brunswick serve as the link between the sovereign government of the Duchy and ambassadors from its provinces and other sovereign nations. The Foreign Ministry is headed up by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and his committee. The Foreign Ministry is located near the Regierung Komplex in Braunschweig, Duchy of Brunswick.

Duties of the Foreign Ministry[]

The following are the duties of the Foreign Ministry and its ambassadors:

  • Keep lines of communication open between the Duchy and other governments.
  • Promote peace and trade agreements between the Duchy and other governments.
  • Promote peace negotiations and subsequent agreements between allies of the Duchy who are in conflict upon request.
  • Set requirements for travel by citizens not from the Duchy.
  • Set requirements for immigrants who seek to move to or seek asylum in the Duchy.
  • Issue passports for citizens and visas for non-citizens.

Departments of the Foreign Ministry[]

The Foreign Ministry consists of several departments that specialize in handling relations with countries by continent or region. These departments are subject to the Minister’s Bureau, a department that sets guidelines for the conducting of business in each department. The departments are as follows:

  • North America & the Caribbean Division, dealing with provinces or nations on the North American continent or in the Caribbean Islands.
  • Central & South America Division, dealing with provinces or nations on the Central or South American continents.
  • European Division, dealing with provinces or nations on the European continent.
  • African Division, dealing with provinces or nations on the African continent.
  • Asian & the Pacific Division, dealing with provinces or nations on the Asian Continent or in the Pacific Ocean.

Units of the Foreign Ministry[]

The Foreign Ministry also has units that serve to promote the interests of the Duchy of Brunswick. These units answer to the Minister’s Bureau as well. The units of the Foreign Ministry are as follows:

  • Cultural Affairs Unit, dealing with the promotion of the cultural aspects of the Duchy and its provinces.
  • Economic Affairs Unit, dealing with the promotion of the economic environment of the Duchy and its provinces and the negotiations on agreements with other provinces and nations.
  • Media and Research Unit, dealing with the promotion of Duchy and assisting with any research requests from government contacts and contacts from the public.
  • The Unit for International Cooperation, dealing with the promotion of peace and trade agreements between the Duchy and its allies or assisting in conflict resolution between allies when requested with the Minister's Bureau and other Divisions.
