The Minister of Foreign Affairs shall represent the diplomatic hand of the Global Alliance and Treaty Organization. The Ministry shall negotiate treaties and agreements, establish embassies, work towards cease-fires, secure peace and assistance, and perform all necessary functions to maintain appropriate foreign policy. All but one of all the members that held the position were from GATO, that one non-member was from NPO during GATO's Viceroy Period. A Minister of Foreign Affairs's term lasts two calendar months at which time elections are held for the next one. Unlike the Assembly Chairman; a nation can be elected to this office indefinitely as opposed to only three consecutive terms as Assembly Chairman.
