Dehlia is a growing, developing, and maturing nation at 42 days old with citizens primarily of Mixed ethnicity whose religion is Sikhism. It is a backwards nation when it comes to technology and many refer to it unkindly as a 'Third World Nation'. Its citizens pay extremely high taxes and many despise their government as a result. The citizens of Dehlia work diligently to produce Pigs and Cattle as tradable resources for their nation. It is an aggressive country that some say has an itch for war. Dehlia is currently researching nuclear technology for the use of nuclear power plants but believes nuclear weapons should be banned. Plans are on the way within Dehlia to open new rehabilitation centers across the nation and educate its citizens of the dangers of drug use. Dehlia allows its citizens to protest their government but uses a strong police force to monitor things and arrest lawbreakers. It has an open border policy, but in order for immigrants to remain in the country they will have to become citizens first. Dehlia believes in the freedom of speech and feels that it is every citizen's right to speak freely about their government. Dehlia has no definite foreign aid at this time. The government of Dehlia will trade with any other country regardless of ethical consequences.

On the eve of the fall of the Eastern Roman empire at the hands of the Ottoman Turks, a half-insane monk named Dehlos the Bored smuggled a group of monks, prisoners, and peasants out of Constantinople in a Venetian galley. The refugees from the ruined city bounced from port to port fleeing from reprisals from the Ottomans. In desperation, Dehlos' refugees decided to hide in Morea and fortify themselves in the town of Mistra.

On 14 September 1486, the near dead monk rallied his refugees to fight off an Ottoman raiding party headed by Ahmad the Proud. As Mistra was of no value to the Ottomans, they left the monk and his band on his own.
