Antartida is a sizeable, highly developed, and ancient nation at 770 days old with citizens primarily of Mestizo ethnicity who follow no religion. Its technology is first rate and its citizens marvel at the astonishing advancements within their nation. Its citizens pay extremely high taxes and many despise their government as a result. The citizens of Antartida work diligently to produce Lumber and Oil as tradable resources for their nation. It is an aggressive country that some say has an itch for war. It believes nuclear weapons are necessary for the security of its people. The military of Antartida has been positioned at all border crossings and is arresting all drug traffickers. Antartida allows its citizens to protest their government but uses a strong police force to monitor things and arrest lawbreakers. Its borders are closed to all forms of immigration. Antartida believes in the freedom of speech and feels that it is every citizen's right to speak freely about their government. The government of Antartida has no compassion for other people of the world and does not contribute to foreign aid. The government of Antartida will trade with any other country regardless of ethical consequences.

History

After the massive policy of social exclusion resulted on the formalization of organized crime as a parallel power in brazil, war began. Government started drafting people to fight the war on crime while the crime syndicates did the same thing for a more egalitarian capitalism. Following political instability on the regional power, power struggles began to get less political and more militaristic. Colombia made black ops a routine in venezuelan, brazilian and ecuatorian soil. Venezuela and Bolivia declared war against Colombia, that was backed by Chile, and a domino effect dragged every country in the continent to one side or another. While the national elites did their best to stimulate latent nationalism through their militant organizations attempting to inflame the population and to drag them in their own private agendas, the people grew more and more apolitical and skeptical of it all and large migration waves started within conflict areas. It is with that background that our hero, Hugo deSouza, gathers the very best out of latin american populace, and forms a paramilitary organization that functioned much like the one in the movie Fight Club. Secret in its nature, the organization that comprised would-be-antartidans promoted flash mobs all over Latin America with the intent to raise consciousness and make the people know that the elites wanted them to die for their right to exploit them and gained massive popular support as a result, after some years. Initially the organization was able to subdue and or avoid government propaganda and repression, but eventually agent provocateurs managed to infiltrate in the organization and to drag a few members in ethically questionable actions, and the government naturally used it to frame the entire organization and to torture and kill its members on an human hunt without historical precedents. The organization, seeking self defense, turned into a guerilla group with the intention to take down the neocolonial states and their imperialist enemies, the corporate-like crime states, and establish socialism once and for all. An alliance between the crime states and the neocolonial potencies was formed, against the imminent threat of equality amongst men. The Alliance of Profit managed to nearly drive our beloved and unnamed revolutionary group to oblivion, with the improvement of the manhunts utilizing of the corporate states know-how on subversion. Refusing to turn to juntaism and ignore the founding ideals and the goal of the organization, our heroes decided that since the war could not be won at that point, the best they could do was to retreat and rebuild. They managed to steal extreme-cold survival technology from the governments of Brazil, Chile, Argentina and some Brittish corporations; and oil refinement technology from of Venezuela. They then proclaimed themselves antartidans, stole huge private transport ships at the dock of Santos and migrated to their new home, at the cold continent of Antarctica. They arrived at Antarctica at 04/16/2007 and officially started a federation of small-government communal technocracies, naming the main one Hugoslava, to honour their founder. Central production isolated from "the market" came in handy at a time of economic collapse of the entire world, and the loosely connected technocracies of Antartida became more and more wealthy. Military incursions from the whole world did not prevent Antartida from becoming a world reference in terms of technology, life quality and citizen happiness. Not even the large amount of casualties and the massive destruction that came from the nuclear war with the Alliance of Profit affected Antartida's development. Soon enough, antartida had more military might than the entire Alliance of Profit combined, and the antartidan population decided it was time to see the sun again, and to provide for the people of south america true freedom and political inclusion. After 3 days of the war declaration, the astonished south american population saw antartidan soldiers marching through their capitals and telling them they were obliged by law now to go to university, something that was once a privilege for the wealthy. The initial division of the population amongst nationalism and self interest eventually was turned into complete support of the societal changes and a slight sense of pride in the fact that they were the only stable country in the entire world.
