The Conservative Party of Bowasia is one of two major political, the other being the Liberal Party of Bowasia. The Conservative Party was founded on the basis of conservatism and right-wing politics. The party promotes Christian values and one of its primary supporters is the Catholic Church. Currently it holds 139 out of 336 seats in the Congress of Bowasia. It is currently a minority in the Congress but the Speaker, James Montague, is a member of the party as well as President Bowwow. The Conservative Party is considered to be the successor to the Republican Party of the former United States and both preach the same values and ideas.
It is unknown who founded the Conservative Party. Some believe it may have been former Republicans from the Republican Party of the United States. A date on the foundation does exist, although there is some skepticism on whether this is the actual date on which the Conservative Party was founded or some other date of significance in the party.
The party has a right-wing view on many issues. In fiscal issues, it belives in balanced budgets and a supports the Flat Tax that Bowasia currently has. The party also supports limited government and believes the power the government has should come from the people it governs. In social issues, the party is against Gay Marriage and belives marriage is only between one man and one woman. Their view was realzied in the Bowasian Constituion when an ammnedment was passed that banned gay marriage nationally. However, in the Supreme Court case Dolman v. Bowasia it was decided that it violated human rights and was overturned. The Supreme Court also ruled that the legality of gay marriage could not be decided by the federal government, only by the states' legislatures.
