The CCC Before GWV

The Christian Coalition of Countries has been becoming increasingly involved in an effort to emerge from several months of isolationism that followed the Third Great War. Since the Unjust War, The CCC has increased efforts at developing strong diplomatic ties. At the same time, the CCC enacted a restructuring of its system of government to make the alliance even stronger internally.

This revitalization program appears to have been successful, as the alliance has nearly tripled in size and strength in less than half a year's time. At New Year's Eve 2007, the alliance had approximately 38 nations and 380,000 nation strength. By the end of June, the CCC had recruited its 100th member, but more importantly, their NS as of 6 July 2008 (8:34 PM server time) had officially passed the 1 million Nation Strength mark. Since its involvement in Great War V, the Coalition has faced some minor lags in recruitment, however its combined national strength has steadfastly continued to grow. New recruitment initiatives are also beginning to bear fruit.

In June and July of 2008, the CCC stepped out on a limb somewhat, into the realm of global politics, in what many of the CCC's older members called a true departure from the isolationism of the past. While the alliance tries to be friendly with all diplomats, they have been particularly close with the New Polar Order and the Greenland Republic recently.

Great War V: War of the Coalitions

The Christian Coalition of Countries was supposed to wage a war to defend their allies in Greenland Republic and New Polar Order. However, on the night of 14 August 2008, they were declared on by three alliances: the Global Order of Darkness, The Templar Knights, and the Frontline Formation Coalition, all Maroon alliances.

The DoW stated on OWF stemmed from two comments made in late May by a CCC member directed at TTK - firstly that CCC did not feel they should enter into a pact with a non-Christian alliance. This may have been taken out of context as CCC had more recently signed MDPs with New Polar Order and Greenland Republic, and the reason for the standoffishness on the part of the member stemmed from the possible merger of two now-defunct blocs, the Kingdom of Heaven (considered defunct as a bloc by convention because only two members remain) and The Knights of Christ (ditto, as of before the time this started). However, it still resulted in a private apology and the reprimand of that member by the CCC's High Council.

What's more, the same member was reprimanded for insulting a non-Christian who was a high-ranking member of TTK. These were brought up by the attacking parties in their DoWs, although a member of GOD later admitted that their motivations were more basic - to prevent the CCC from helping out their MDP allies, and that it was done partially for the lulz.

The peace process of this started almost immediately, as both sides strove to secure at least basic reconciliation. CCC Chancellor KeyStroke apologised publicly, while Minister of Foreign Affairs Ogden Chichester and his gracious character won over many on both sides of the war, as did the actions of GOD leader Xiphosis and TTK members Wiccan High Priest, Isabella, and Ariston.

The war damage was heavy, taking out roughly 20% of the CCC's overall strength. Among the hardest-hit nations were Wolfpackland, Uralica, and Demiria. However, as the peace talks started early, the war also met an early end on this front. What the CCC called "The Maroon Coalition", that is, GOD, TTK, and FFC, declared peace on 18 August 2008, with very mild surrender terms:

  1. The CCC had to alter Article V of its Charter to reflect a non-interventionist policy (done - Charter amendment approved by Maroon Coalition representatives, passed 24 August 2008.)
  2. The CCC had to drop its MDPs with NpO and GR (which has been done)
  3. The CCC were prohibited from aiding any alliance involved in the War of the Coalition.

There was scant criticism of either side after this war ended, and many of the members of each side gained respect for the other. There was however one unfortunate incident where a CCC member was deleted for flagrant OOC attacks, and this member has consequently been expelled from the alliance.

CCC Winter Elections

In the winter election of 2009, the positions of Chancellor, Minister of Internal Affairs, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Foreign Affairs were up for election. According to the CCC Election Laws, in order to win an election, a candidate must win a plurality of the vote. The candidates for the positions of Chancellor (Bolak) and Minister of Foreign Affairs (clcarte2) ran unopposed.

Minister of Internal Affairs

After Anton Chenoa II declared that he would not be seeking reelection, long time CCC member and former Director of Economic Development Britishdude, the newly appointed Director of Records buzzboygt, the Director of Economic Development Jelly Doughnut, and the Director of Membership Compliance Mattheus began campaigning for the position.

Britishdude, who had ran for the position once before, continued to promote several initiatives to increase forum participation. He also made several bold promises, such as a commitment to raise new recruits to a nation strength of 4k by the end of his three month term. Britishdude planed to reopen the former CCC Academy for new members.

Buzzboygt began his first campaign for political office since the merger of his former alliance. His platform was on Recruitment, History, Economics, HC Vote. Buzzboygt planed to increase recruitment by continuing the recruitment strategy started by former Chancellor nate1865 and increasing forum and IRC involvement by promoting several programs and scholarships for new members. He also planned to commission the older, longstanding members of the alliance to create a working history for the alliance. He promised to continue the economic development programs started by Anton Chenoa II and use tech deals to increase foreign relations. Buzz also promised to always vote in HC votes in a Christ like manner.

Jelly Dougnut, the current Director of Economic Development , began his campaign promising to increase the economic programs and social programming. He wanted to comprise a CCC Cheat Sheet for new members and recreate the CCC Academy. He also wanted to involve CCC allies in tech deal programs to increase friendships.

Mattheus, current Director of Membership Compliance, began his campaign by focusing of problems and possible solutions that have plagued the CCC. He created a plan that would keep the CCC above the 100-member mark. He also focused on economic development. He proclaimed that each CCC member would need to maintain at least two economic boosters, and participate in tech deals with new members.
