The Appalachian Baseball League is a professional baseball organization in Alleghenia. It was founded in 2158 by the Mountain Broadcasting Company to follow the successful strategy of the EBC with the ABL[1].
Format and Rules[]
The Appalachian Baseball League requires teams to be of mixed-gender, similar to the Atlantic Baseball league, where each team is required to field at least three women at all times. Unlike the Atlantic Baseball League, teams play with Designated hitters.
Each team in the league plays four series of three games against every other team in the league, two home and two away. In its inaugural season, with 5 teams, this resulted in 48 games per team and 120 total games. The top two teams play each other in a best-of-five championship series.
Similar to the Atlantic Baseball League, all teams were initially directly owned and operated by the MBC and games were played in small fields primarily for the radio audience. MBC planed to sell the franchises as the league grew for a significant profit.
In 2164, the Appalachian league completed a merger with the Atlantic League, where as the Atlantic league would be the top tier of play and the Appalachian league would be the secondary tier of play, with teams promoted and relegated between both leagues[2].

The league was formed with five teams: Baltimore Blues, Clarksburg Wildcats, Halifax Sharks, Philadelphia Phantoms, and Richmond Stars.
