History[]

Anarchist Republic was created in 1939, after the defeat of the Nationalists in the Spanish Civil War. The Republicans, with the backing of the USSR then launched an offensive against the numerous Anarcho-Syndicalist communes throughout the nation. The initial victory of the Republican offensive was foreshadowed by the long grueling guerrilla war which followed, and ended in 1946. On May 1, 1947, the Anarchist Republic was declared. Due to the measures necessitated by such a long war, the nation abandoned the system of Wage Slavery, and began a transition, which ended in 1954, to Anarcho-Communism.

Numerous anarchists have visited the successful commune, some choosing to live there. The most famous of these was Noam Chomsky, who visited in 1992. The nation's Spanish culture was soon eroded by that of Internationalism, with the nation hosting people from every corner of the earth, with many choosing to liver there.

In 1978, the Anarchist Republic opened up to the world, what emerged was a strong industrialist state, which, while not as productive as other nations stole the show in regards to happiness of citizens, who appreciated the inherent and massive freedoms available to them. When things needed doing, the communes banded together and got it done.

More recently, the Anarchist Republic became an autonomous commune of the Libertarian Socialist Federation, which it had shown interest in. The nation joined the alliance following an influx of immigrants following the demise of the larger Communist Free State, which was totally destroyed in warfare.
