The Kingdom of Alleghenia, or more commonly, Alleghenia, is a nation in North America centered on Pittsburgh.
Geography[]
Alleghenia originated in the city of Pittsburgh, but controls all of Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.
History[]
Prior to the Grand Mexican War the territory of Alleghenia was controlled by the North American Commonwealth. At the conclusion of war, the Washington-DC-based government collapsed, and city governments were typically the law of the land. While the North American Commonwealth would continue based in Saint Louis, Pittsburgh became an independent city, and eventually a Monarchy under the rule of Robert Tull. In the late 2130s, the Free City of Pittsburgh shed its Free City status and became the Kingdom of Alleghenia. In 2141, Alleghenia began expanding to the west and south[1] to secure additional coal deposits and provide more security for its strong coal industry and Canary Coal. Eventually, with the help of J Andres, Alleghenia would go to war and conquer the Eastern Union[2] which would give it much larger borders, and access to the sea.
Government and Politics[]
Alleghenia is a monarchy. The government in Pittsburgh is strong and centralized. Coal is an abundant natural resource, and was one of the driving reasons for Alleghenia to form and shed its status as a Free City.
Foreign Relations[]
Alleghenia has a positive outlook on J Andres, Ottania, and the Kingdom of Aurelia. Alleghenia has a negative outlook on the Augustine Empire and the North American Commonwealth.
