Ulysses Lee was born in Richmond, Virginia to a family of Icelandic-Americans. He was named after General Ulysses Grant from the American Civil War. His father was a small businessman and his mother one of the few female Rabbis the local Jewish church. Both his parents wanted him to follow in his fathers footsteps, but he was interested in something else, politics. His interest in politics had grown by the time he reached middle school.
While in middle school, his interest in politics continued to grow. He studied politics on his own, using internet resources. Many kids in the schools he went to thought that he could be the next president of the United States of America. When he was a freshman his parents finally gave in to his desires and put him into private lessons for political science. This, combined with his own independent research, made him extremely knowledgeable in politics. He went on to graduate from Oxford University.
He saw his nation beginning to fall apart in the 2000's, and took some measures to try to keep it alive. However by 2006, the United States of America dissolved. He wandered around when he met Zabuza Hashimoto, and together they re-inhabited Midway Atoll. Once the nation was established he ran for vice-president, and was elected. After the dissolution of the first Union of Midway he went on to become the President of the Independent Territory of Aldebaran. When the Union of Midway was re-founded, he ran for Vice President again and was elected vice President. After the Nationalist Party of Midway came into power he became President, as Zabuza had become the Emperor of the Union of Midway. He was relieved from office on June 15th, 2012 and was succeeded by Abdullah Mohamed Malan.
